The tram was put in support in 1992 on normal gauge monitor with contemporary cars, connecting Sirkeci with Topkapi. The line was prolonged on just one conclusion from Topkapi to Zeytinburnu in March 1994 and, on another conclusion from Sirkeci to Eminönü in April 1996.
